Anyone recognize this fuel injector part?

We went to go put our secondary fuel injector in and noticed this piece and it was cracked sitting there. The injector seems to slide into it. Is this something that I can pick up locally or is it something I have to special order can anyone help?

It's a diffuser. You generally need them. I believe they will have to be ordered, as opposed to picking them up at the local auto parts store.

If you're still using the stock or old tech/cheap injectors you'll want to replace that. For modern injectors like ID, they're not considered necessary. You can break out the diffuser and simply use the collar as a spacer/seat for the injectors.

Even with modern injectors, due to the basically 90 degree angle they shoot into the manifold against the walls, they are very beneficial. Mazda would agree, if one looks at the Renesis. It goes so far as to have little air pipes shoot at the injector nozzle.

Thanks, I am still in the stock injectors and recently got them cleaned/mapped and from the paperwork it looks like they needed it. Of course I tried to buy the diffuser off eBay and now I've been waiting ten days for it to arrive and the seller isn't responding. Anyone out on the west coast near Sacramento that knows B and B Racing Mazda Specialists? I just want the part so hopefully it runs again and my kid can drive it. It is so annoying to walk past it every day hoping the part shows up, and I can't imagine how my son feels with no car.

Not mazda specific, go back to your local fuel injector place they will have that part.

i would be super extremely surprised to find that diffuser as a universal application and something just any injector shop has.

i have the diffusers if yours hasn't shown up yet. i was planning on making a listing for them on ebay but just haven't gotten to those parts yet.

As everyone else said, you need that part.

I KNOW I have seen aluminum versions of these somewhere, I just don't remember where.
