Anyone with RB DP/Presilencer + Stock Catback?

I really need some input on this. It seems like I won't be able to afford the full RB Turboback until later on this summer, but I want to get something done before the end of school and before Rotorfest. I want to get something cheap to go with for now until I can afford the full thing but i've heard that just the downpipe and presilencer with a stock catback can sound pretty bad, but I want to know from some people who have owned the setup themselves. Also, how can I tell if my mufflers are the stock ones or not? They have a louder than stock sound as far as most cars go, but not too loud, so i'm wondering if thats just the way they came stock, or what, and how could I be sure. Sound clips would be VERY much appreciated, but first hand experience with this kind of setup would be great as well.

I have a TII, so headers and turbo stuff might sound a bit different.

Turbonut suggested to me a Thunderfabrications full 3" downpipe. Anyone have any experience with these as far as how loud they sound compared to something with a presilencer?

when i first got my rb header and presilencer, i hooked them up with the stock catback. at idle and below 3-4k rpm's they sounded quite normal and not bad. anything higher than that and the screaming blatant noise that came out of the mufflers made them seem like they were going to explode. it sounded like total *** and i had to get a catback to replace them right away. i drove my car like a little girl until i could get the new exhaust on.

i have the rb dp and the rest of the exhaust is stock. one thing it really helps is response. other than that the car pretty much sounds stock but i have nothing to compare it to because it came that way

the 3" downpipe and Presilencer won't bolt to the stock cat back....

just do it all at once. it'll be cheaper and eaiser.

Everyone keeps saying the headers/presilencer sucked for them, but what about on a turbo?

The 3" RB dp and presilencer wont bolt up to any stock or aftermarket catback except the rest of the full turboback catback. With the full turboback system it sounds pretty quiet and idle and kinda loud when you want it to be. It's kind of pointless to ask if anybody has the rb turboback dp and presilencer with stock catback unless they had a extra pipe to connect them. I believe the 2.5in dp/presilencer will bolt to a stock catback but I'm not positive.

I never said 3" though for the RB stuff, I would go 2.5" until I could afford the whole thing over the summer.
