Question Anyone With a Pacesetter Cat-Back???

Hello all. I've done a search, and I didn't seem to find some of what I was looking for, so I'll post a few questions here.

1. Does anyone here have the Pacesetter cat back for the second gen RX-7??

2. Does it flow any better than the stock exhaust??

3. Have you had problems with it rusting??

4. Does it sound good??

5. Would you recommend it to anyone else??

I've got a Mindtrain header and presilencer, and I just want to get something that will replace the stock units, but I don't want to spend a ton. I've heard that the Pacesetter header is junk, but I don't know about the cat back. Any help would be awesome.

Thanks,
Jeff

DON'T GET THE PACE SETTER!!!!

it sux ***
for a third of the money you would spend on that POS:
Call summit racing or go the web page,
oder a 2.5" stainless exhaust tub 5 footer = $35
then get the Dynomax ultraflow Stainless muffler 2.5" =$99
have it bent and put on by a mufler shop = $100
if you wnat mandrel bent tubing order summit's 2.5" "J" pipe and have the muffler shop cut it in the bend, turn it so it looks lik and "S" and butt weld it. use another piece of the 2.5" tubing for the tip.
this setup is capable of 250 horses on a single tube.
if you want to upgrade your cat too:
then order the Dynomax Ultraflo stainless cat too = $180

I own a pacetter cat-back.
I did it for the money too and I find there isn't anything wrong with it.
It bolts up pretty easily and has a small noticeable difference in power but not a lot. I think I did because my mufflers has stuff rattling around and were pretty old. The exhaust come with 2 dual tips which is personal prefernce you can decide. I've only has it for 8 months so I wouldn't know if it rusts. Though it hasn't yet and I live in some wet and snowy weather. The pipes are painted or coated with somethin black, not sure.

One problem that didn't bother me at the time but it does now is that it is totally hollow and made it a little loud. I lived with it until I decided to order a presilencer from racing beat which is coming in next week

Happy to answer anything else u want to know

Big Wankler,
How do the tips look on the back of the car?? Do the dual tips have to hang down quite a bit below the bumper in order to fit, or does it still look decent??

Thanks,
Jeff

Personally at first I didn't like the way it looked but it grew on me

The tips are about 1 and a half in diameter x2. They don't half to hang lower at all, just a little. Nothing looks out of place or anything

I bought a Dynomax catback system from JC Whitney for $259 a few years ago and have had no problems with it. It comes with a bigger Y-pipe and has free flowing, straight-through design mufflers. A little louder than stock with more of a low-grunt sound (not Civic high-pitched wail sound). I don't see the system listed on their sight, but order a catatlog or call them and they might still stock it. Otherwise, I'd look into one of the RX-7 specialty shops for one of theirs. Rotary Performance comes to mind (www.rx7.com) for an affordabale alternative.

Those dual tips don't fit in the cutouts in the bumper, and it looks goofy.
