Question Anyone Know What This is?

I was putting my new fuel pump in today when i noticed a massive wiring harness just dangling there. The guy who owned my 7 before me was pretty stoopid so i wouldnt put it past him to just unplug something and forget about it. Anyway take a look, its on the right side of the car just behind the taillight.

PS: Sry for the shitty pic but my cam sucks.

OMG!!! DON'T UNPLUG THAT!!!

Actually, I have no idea what it is. I just wanted to scare you for a sec. It is probably one of those great Mazda "Let's Think Ahead" things that they pre-wire into every car whether or not it gets the options attached to the other end of the wire. (Or not attached if you didn't get the option) Try locating the other end if you can see where it goes. Judging from the location that I can see (It looks like the floor area directly behind the LF seat) it may be pre-wired for passive restraints (ie: the little mouse on the shoulder belt that frequently jumps out of its track). If I recall correctly, passive restraints were used in 7's going to other countries before they were offered in the US. This is more of a stupid guess more than anything, but who knows?
btw: Have you checked a wiring schematic from the manual yet? It may help you pinpoint the origin or destination of the wire.

Yeah I was hoping I wouldnt have to go to the damn wiring diagram again, I really hate that thing :P And the location (although hard to tell in crappy pic) is just on the other side of the right tail light, the harness just goes with the rest of the wires up to the front of the car. Hmm... anyone else wana take a shot?

it was fuxored. Wheels are old WRD wheels. I sanded them down really well and gave them like 3948575 coats of flat black paint. They looked like crap b4. Now they look good. I got them with my SE as a spare set of wheels.

Heres a pic of the damage:

Damage wasnt THAT BAD. I just decided it would be cheaper to buy a shell and swap my engine/tranny into it. I saved my current FC (GXL) from the junkyard for $250 Body work alone (for the SE) was going to cost way more.
