yes..... much modification needs to be done.

you need to search as this has been covered extensively!!!!!!!!!

but to assist you as best as i can:

it'd be easier to just switch out these items:

s5 ECU => s4 ECU
s5 Wiring Harness => s4 harness
s5 AFM, Pressure Sensor, TPS, etc => s4 sensors

otherwise you've got to hack the s5 harness to match... however you could just strip everything off of the s4 motor, down to the shortblock, replace the s4 front cover with an s5 (becaus the s4's have a mechanical OMP, s5's are electric) then put the s5 components back onto the s4 shortblock. bam. done son.

wont u have a problem with the S4 ECU being compatible with the rest of the harness' other than just the engine harness connecting up?

yes, all you do is take the s4 shortblock; switch out the front cover so that the electric OMP can be used and the s5 ECU can be used (s5 ECU will put the car into "limp" mode if it doesn't see the OMP there and functioning properly) Then attach all the s5 peripherals. That way the s5 harness and ECU still work because you still use all the externals from an s5, although the block is a s4.

from s4 to s5 is the real bitch.
