Anyone know the 60-0 numbers...
Back to the original question, I've seen varying answers for S5s. I've seen numbers for a TII in the 124-124 ft range, and numbers for a GTUs in the 135 ft range. So, go from there. Those are numbers I found in old magazine articles in the RX-7 Gold Portfolio.
"There can be no justice so long as laws are absolute"
I think that really applys to speed limits too. Let''s face it, sports cars and sports sedans are capable of higher speeds because of superior traction and braking capability.
The speed limits out there are posted for an "average" car which includes SUV's and large trucks. When taking those vehicles into account, city planners reduce speed limits around town, especially corners accordingly.
Us sports cars should have our own speed limit >

i have a friend that thinks that way too.
1/2 sec at 55 in a normal car and 1/2 sec at 70 in a sports car are not the same. Not only will you travel farther before you hit the brakes you will also have to slow down much faster.
Then there is the case of no reaction time. If a deer jumps out or a tire blows out.
i'd like to support you but my common sense doesn't allow me to do it.
When i speed i know i'm at a higher risk.

Just my $0.02. In my opinion people who do things like not signal, drive in the incorrect lane for their speed (like 60 in the left lane), or drive poorly maintained vehicles are a FAR greater threat to public safety than a sober person driving a well maintained performance vehicle marginally above the speed limit.

So, go from there. Those are numbers I found in old magazine articles in the RX-7 Gold Portfolio.

You can't fight the ticket so to say, but there are loopholes.
The main one you can use is if he radar'ed you. The records on the officer are publicly available if you ask for them. What you want is documents on the last time the officers radar gun was calibrated. While the time limit varies from state to state, theres a good chance his calibration is expired and that WILL get you out of the ticket.
Hope that helps.

2. lets say the ticket is for $68. you pay $78 and the DMV sends you back a check for $10, throw that away and dont cash it. this will result in a "non-completed transaction" and you insurance company will not find out about it (but you still have to pay)

Its a good idea but it doesn't work

do you know if this is a law everywhere? i have a friend that asked the officer to see his radar reading when he got pulled over for going 72 in a 45. there were 4 of us in the car and there is no way he was going that fast. when my friend asked about the radar reading the cop got incredibly agitated and nasty with him about it...and he never found out about the radar reading. when you say that the records are publicly available do you mean that you can request to go see them at the station or what? and whats to keep the officer from reporting that you were going 9 million mph when you were sitting still?

Now theres a chance you could fight it if the cop failed to show you an accurate readout of how fast you were going, and that he in fact has a radar gun (in some states, not all cops have radar guns) If he has no gun, then he has to try to prove to the court somehow that he calculated your speed using triangulation and his own eyes.
As for the records, they are usually available at the public records office (wherever that may be in your area, try asking around City Hall) As far as I know, most information about a cop is publicly available (relavant information like his years of service, years of training, any disciplinry action taken against him, records of radar gun calibration etc etc)

Over here where ZenFox and I live .. man cops are biatches.. well . some of them.. down in redmond 5 minutes away some are racist and pull me over cause im a ricer! I just know it.. I got pulled over in a parking lot for going 30 when my friend infront of me was going at least 40.. I was following him, and the cop didnt even see him.. Pff .. thats a bunch of BS. He drives a red civic. I drove a white mr2. But anyways.. If the cops dont show up here and you show up, then the winner is the person who got the ticket .. not sure exactly how but it works here.. Dont try it though .. if they show up .. your screwd.

A sports car is only as capable as it's driver.
While we all think we're the greatest drivers in the world, we are not. Our cars may be capable of higher speeds, but I'm willing to bet a lot of the drivers are not.

1. make the court date and reschedule, then reschedule, then reschedule again. pretty soon he cop will not show up and it will be a mistrial, thus your ticket will not count.

I don't know in other states, but in VA they actually check the cop schedule, in order to arrange a "common" court day
BTW - They don't like to reschedule court day more than once
if you were actually going that fast then you deserve to get the ticket! its not hard to drive the speed limit, you should try it some time... then you wouldnt have to worry about getting tickets...
