Anyone have a pre-REV TII presilencer?

I have a pre-REV TII presilencer on the Turbovert (still stainless as far as I can remember), but I'm 1000 miles away from home right now, and cant remember if its a 3 inch, or 2.5 inch.

I just bought a REV TII downpipe from a forum member and its a 3inch pipe/flange.

I'm trying to source gaskets so I can put it back together the day I get home. Just don't know if they'll fit at this point.

I have one on my fc right now and it makes such a diffrence that u could hear the tires and the engine over the actual exhaust sound. I do however have a borla xr1 and a universal racing beat 3" muffler single exit. i feel like the presilencer makes the exhaust silent more than the other 2

I've mated the RB header (2.5) to the REV TII (3 inch) presilencer.
So really if they are not the same size you can get away with a mismatch.
I realize that you are talking TII downpipe but you can make it fit.
BTW the BIG Presilencer can is 3 inch and the TUBE is 2.5.

I figured this, yes the downpipe is the BIG 3" one...

The REV TII downpipe to REV TII silencer is easy... I just cant remember the flange size of the old style silencer... its killing me that I'll have to wait ANOTHER week for RB's slow *** service/shipping to get me the proper gasket - if it will fit at all.

The effing suspense is killing me.

If you have problems with the Gasket,What I do is buy exhaust gasket material by the sheet at the Parts store.I make my own.
I got tired of 10 bucks for a gasket.Put material on flange,..tap,tap with hammer, cut out with shears and done.

CARQUEST was the only place that actually had Anything resembling exhaust gasket material... but not the conventional stuff.

It couldn't have been paper, but it was in a roll... I think 1.8mm thick, some sort of ceramic fiber type stuff I think. I'm sure that wouldn't work for turbo-dp, but you think it would work for dp-presilencer?

I'm pretty sure you can get the good stuff from Summit racing. Order it and I'll bet it'll be there waiting for you when you get home from tex ***.

RB carries the gaskets... all the turbo back/revII stuff use the same flange.

the older stuff, is 80mm pipe, the newer stuff (polished), is made in the US, so its 3"

Car quest?.Auto quest?..something like that.(Remember I am in Canuckistan!)
Had a roll that was coated, but had metal in between, sandwiched, sort of thing.
Actually looked like the regular exhaust gaskets but in a sheet.

^ I've used that stuff.

I actually used it for the block to exhaust manifold and exhaust manidolf to turbo. Didn't last very long... The steel OEM gaskets are the best option for those particular areas. BUT to answer the OP question, I think this stuff would work just fine for the downpipe to presilencer.

Update...

I found an unusually helpful guy at Advance who let me go back with my downpipe and dig through the boxes of gaskets.

I found a fel-pro coated steel gasket (similar to our OEM ones) - biggest one they had - that will require VERY minor trimming. From an old school Nissan I think... the VG30. I'll post the part number if anyone wants, it was like 3 or 4 bucks.

Yep! Not exactly the best of the best working there! I'll update again when I get home on the flange differences - if there are any.

The answer is............. they're the same flange.

And the gasket is a near perfect fit... just gotta trim about 1/8" around the circumference of the center hole.
