anyone have a K&N Fuel injection preformance kit??

hey i was wondering if anyone had this kit because i wanted to know if it came with a replacment intake hose because i hav never seen a rx-7 with an after market intake hose. it would be helpfull to have one because the stock one had many ripples and bends in it to quite the air yet creates turbulance and restricts air flow

Whats an intake hose? Do you mean the TID? Like every TII out there has an aftermarket one.

accualy now that i think about it i never have looked on the inside only the outside i was just assuming it was but it would still be coll if somone made a plastic or carbon fiber one(steel or aluminum would get very hot uner the manifold)

On some vehicles the K&N FIPK has been shown to actually decrease HP (Tacoma V6's for example).

The plastic doesn't transmit the heat as easily as metal would.

Yeah some vehicles are setup to over react to the freer flowing intake and screw with the signals to ECU...and anti-aftermarket-tampering strategy I guess...

well in the case of the Tacoma and the SC400/Soarer, the factory OEM sized air filters are bigger than the K&N one that comes with the FIPK, and again the metal intake tube, heats up degrading engine performace because the incoming air going into the motor is hotter.

But the well known deckplate mod or even just removing the snorkle under the fender gives the Tacoma about a 5% increase in HP, so it is not one of the vehicles that you mention that don't react well to free flowing intakes. It just doesn't react well to crappy "designer performance" rice style intake designs.

true...I wasn't aware of how well they're constructed for most vehicles...but I've heard that a lot of korean made cars *cough*cough*daewoo*cough* get all kinds of fucked up signals when the intake is freed up. Also heard that about certain GM vehicles and certain Nissans but haven't ever seen it.
