You so realize that those were drag radials...
And that his FD has a custom set of rear toe links that were required so the inside edges of those tires didn't touch anything...

275 picture

I managed to dig up a crappy old picture of my car with 275/40/17's. I forget what the offset is. You can kind of see how wide it was. That is a VERY tight fit. I got 255's later to replace them.

you can, but it will be very oversquare. A 245 is the biggest i would go on an 8. You need a wider rim. Sorry for not responding yesterday.

Ok, I found a rim that is identical to what I have (that way, I only have to replace the rears), but they are 17x9, as opposed to 17x8. The kicker is, they only have +30mm offset instead of the standard +40mm offset. I've seen people posting on here that they have a +32 offset, but will a +30 make THAT much more of a difference? I'd like to put AT LEAST a 255 on the back, preferably a 275. Nitto recommends a 9.5" tire for a 275, but it says that a 9" will work....

The million dollar questions: Will the 30mm offset work on my car?

Thanks again for everyones help.

Yes, it will work just fine. In fact, I think it looks much better as it puts the outside edge of the rim closer tto the wheel well so it doesn't have that sunk in look like stock.
Later,
Ben

315's

Kevin's 315's are NOT drag radials on the CCW wheels, there Hoosier road race tires. He ran his drag tires on FD 16's. Brad

Either or it would've been borderline on the street...
