Anyone ever painted an alternator?
Im thinking about doing this, as it is by far the dirtiest thing in my engine bay.
Im just wondering if im going to be able to get it back together, lol.

Flat black = fugly. The alternator is one of the most prominent parts in the engine bay. You could at least try to improve it's looks...
You've got a JC Cosmo 13B right? Here's an good dismantle/reassemble how-to for the Mitsi 3000GT alternator, which is almost exactly the same as the JC/FD alternator. I used this to rebuild my FD alternator.

I had the aluminium housings sand-blasted and I painted the outside of the stator gloss black. Looks like new.

Well the bay is going to be flat black.
I also have some aluminum colored paint that I could also use, but I thought it would look unoriginal.
