I drift my absolutely BONE stock 10th AE wherever I go. I can't stand the stock setup, but i just don't want to do anything to my baby. I want to keep her clean and stock. The only footage i have of me, kind of drifting, the AE "i had VERY limited space," is... Here
Just a video a friend of mine did for his film class. Don't give me **** about any answers i gave that might not be 100% correct. I was told to read what he wrote, even though i didn't 100% agree with a few issues. So, go to hell in advance.

I'm not going to drift but I love hearing about the suspension setups to help me figure out what to get later. I've marked this thread. None of these setups make the car go into a drift more easily, right??

But anyway back to cars. I think you should be okay for now. Just remember to keep it safe and fun. Otherwise you'll learn the hard way just as I did, but I am a stubborn bastard. Although the mountains up in El Yunque sure seem like fun. Well, good luck and let's see the car! Even if it's stock.
hey bro, sure ill post a pic of the car. its not that stock either but it isn't modified that much too. i trew 220whp las time on dyno but now with the new things im putting i think ill hit 240whp let's see what happen. one of the pictures is when it was stock and the second with the suspension and other mods.( one of the pictures is a little crappy but you get the idea).

It's bad when the rear camber is more than the front.

Whoa whoa whoa...

You want to keep your car "clean" yet you drift your bone stock 10AE in public areas where you could easily smack a curb, post, or some other stationary object? Sounds like your priorities are a bit messed up.

And drifting on the street is stupid, take it to the track.

ATLEAST take it to a secluded, empty industrial or commercial parking lot at like midnight! thats what we do.... once a month for an event isn't enough! especially at 75 bucks a pop!

I usually do, but they were filming part of a documentary at that parking lot you saw, and just told me to drive like an ***. I was in a weird mood, so i did. And as far as hitting a curb, light, etc, i have a lot of faith in my driving. I don't really do anything i can't handle.

Car looks clean!! I like the stock chrome rims too!!! You never see those anymore. With the power you have that should be more than enough to begin drifting, with the look at the stance of the car. It seems like the car is ready for the basics. Start out doing some donuts around a cone. Get so good at it that you rub the cone the entire time. Then some figure 8's, try going faster with second gear, and jus practice , practice, and practice!!!!

Either you have no idea what you're doing, or you're not going fast enough...

Okay, I don't drift on the street. Let's make that clear. That's retarded. I do, however, drift in empty parking lots. When I'm not doing it on a track, I'm not going to go that fast. I'm not gonna go sideways at ******* 80mph and hope I don't hit something. I don't put myself in that situation. I keep a relatively low speed of 20-30 when not on a track. I just like to slide a little when there's not an event to be seen for months. Damn. What's so wrong with that?

hey man i have a 89 fc gtus. the suspension is bone stock with just a few minor engine and drivetrain mods. i have an lsd in it and its the only way to go. i use the slight body roll to link drifts. one word of advice would be to upgrade springs and not use to big of rims. i have 18" rims and on the occasion the tires will rub the inner fender while linking big drifts. hope this helps.

That's not called drifting.
That's called power sliding.

Put it this way.
If for some reason I happen to get sideways, I wanna make sure it looks good

but I wouldnt or dont necessarily drift. It is a RWD car afterall and the back will come out at some points, if you arent really or you dont really care for a perfect time or anything.
the parkinglot thing is pretty boring IMO.
I'd maybe do it with some cones, but then only in the rain lol. I like my tires.

that is rediculous. if you have the nerve to do that **** with that many people around then you deserve to have your car taken from you.

as for drifting, i used to do the parking lot thing at around 12, but now i do very secluded streets around 3 or so if im still awake enough to go drift. i would never drift in traffic or anything like that though. and as for drifting in the rain... thats the only way to go haha. i know my tires appriciate it.
