Anyone check out this website yet?

It is rotary-works.com it just launched in march 2010, they have some pretty cool stuff, my main question is, they have a throttle body for sale for a s5 tii IIRC it's an aftermarket director bolt on. The only thing I'm wondering is , it is a single butterfly valve insteAd of three smaller butterfly valves, it's a single 80mm throttle body, is there any advantage to getting one of these over a stock one?
Thanks in advanced

For 375 bucks? plus the pain of retrofitting a FD TPS to a FC? Hells no. Contact BDC, he'll do a port and polish on your existing throttle body that will probably yield just as good results for half the price and no headache involved.

Oh the throttle body that I was looking at was for a 86-92, but then it said FD so is that where you figured u need an FD tps? Just curious, and one of the advantages I was thinking is that it comes with the throttle body, because I havebeen looking for an s5 tii TB haven't seen one for sale.

Its a direct bolt on alright. but according to the website it uses " the newer generation Rx7 TPS " which means, FD TPS or FE TPS, which means a huge pain in the *** to retrofit to a FC. It comes with the throttle body because it is the throttle body. it replaces the stock one. I wouldnt do it, not for the cost. Unless you were going big boost, aftermarket ECM, otherwise you have no need.

agree its not worth the money unless you have high goals, but i do know it does help with air flow gives more torque. i'm going to get this when i have everything ready to do my fd uim conv. and my meth inj. mod.

It would be interesting to see a before and after dyno on this throttle body.

The price actually doesn't seem bad if you need a throttle body. I did have a need for one at some point.....hehe My jspec motor had a bent rod that was not allowing the butterflies to work properly. Must of happened in shipping from japan.

The throttle body is a good choice for radical porting (such as bridgeports) or big power levels. For anyone with a stock ECU, street ports or moderate power goals then it wouldn't be worth the trouble. Mainly because it disables the staged butterflies of the stock throttle body, now opening both the primary and secondary ports at the same time. Makes for twitchy throttle down low, less low end (no primary port velocity) and a more difficult tuning situation.

Oh well I am aware that the reason it comes with s TB is because it Is one and I was js saying it seemed cool because u don't have to hunt one down, because I have never seen anyplace besides rotary-works that even sells a TB fir anFC , but j have no need for this, I have small horse power goals. Lol thanks for the help

That exhaust looks like it's for an FD... But 86-92 must be a typo. Weird!

89-93 RX-7 FC Coilover Suspension? Do these guys know anything about RX-7s? Or do the struts/springs from the S5 actually work on an S6? I think this website is unreliable.

Sorry for the double post.

Could be their web editor doesn't know Rx-7s ....

Man that exhaust for the FD( labeled FD) is stupidly inexpensive, obviously mass produced. I wonder if its from over seas...

Guess I will have to give it a shot down the line...

Yeah I wonder if why so many things are mis labeled also, but I really doubt that they would open a website that is marketed to rotarys and not know anything about rx7s lol
