Cool Any tips for removing the steering rack on an 86 NA?

Hey guys, I was wondering if any of you would have any tips on removing the steering rack on an 86 NA with power steering would be great. Also would I have any problems with the rack from an '88 NA with power steering. They are both GXL's. The one from the 88 looks to have new boots, so hopefully it is in good shape. I'm guessing I need to pull the plastic fender well off of the drivers side and pull it out the drivers side. If anyone has any tips for the hard to reach nuts please let me know.

No need to removes the fender wall. Remove the fan assem. if it's still on there. Remove the front sway bar. The six bolts you need to undue are from under the car and the nuts are welded so no need to hold them. The bolts are up inside the frame so just look for the holes (6 of em) Then you need to unhook the tie rods from the suspension. And you need to remove the lil boot over the linkage between the steering arm and the rack, and remove the one bolt attaching the two. If you are keeping it power aided then you'll need to carefully unhook all of the lines which are probably so tight you'll need an army of small men with air tools. If you're dropping the power asist then just hack away at the damn thing untill you can shimmy it out of the bottom of the car. That's how I swapped in my manual rack. It took me about 7 hours. If I did it again it would take 7 hours. Yep, real pain in the ***. If you had a manual and swapped in another manual it could be done in about 1 hour. The **** hanging off of the power rack makes life suck...
