Any interest in this shift ****?
I just want to see if there is any interest in this shift ****. I drew it up in Solidworks today... I don't know how much it would cost to machine, but assuming that it will be available at a reasonable price, who would be interested in it? If you have any questions or suggestions let me know. Thanks.

also the rx-7 looks a bit odd. maybe eplace it with an actual rotor. just a simple gear in the center and the corner seal holes on each corner, then maybe a small rx7 in the center of the rotor? not tryin to change you whole thing, just giving some criticism
Poor chop but you get the idea

I had one made from a rapid prototyping machine awhile back (I lost the drawing, so I redrew it today) but it was surprisingly comfortable. Your second knuck goes at the front point and when you wrap your hand around the **** it fits well. Just my opinion, but keep the suggestions coming.

Eats, Sleeps, Dreams Rotary
Looks seriously uncomfortable...
I'd be interested in a Voodoo-style sphere **** so long as it weights close to 300 grams (stock **** is 350 grams) and isn't *too* large... and for less than 40 bucks, shipped (...yes, that's asking a lot).
Also, having some sort of insulation between the threads and the **** would be a good idea, since that way you might be able to avoid a superheated/superchilled ****...

Alright, I'm going to tweak it this afternoon, I'm going to increase the radius of the bottom circle, so the overall shape will be more cylindrical, round the top more, and make it more rotor looking. Thanks for the input.

I don't have a good idea of price yet.... Right now I just want to get a design and see if there is interest. Once the design is final I'll take it to a machine shop and see how much it will be to get it milled.

it be cool to have a couple designs like rx7, fc3s, fd3s, or like the one dude said "make it look like a rotor"-with like the designs and seals cut into it, even making the top look like the infini symbol.. Either way thats pretty cool that you making things on your own mang!!

This one has rounder edges, making the whole **** rounder, I was going to make the base larger, but the **** was to large that way. Let me know what you think about this one.

It took a few hours. Those of you that have posted criticism what do you think of this design? And what else do you think should be changed? Thanks.

Looks close to the drawings I made. Closest is on page 4. https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/gauge-interest-shift-knob-509125/
I didn't get the interest I was hoping for so the project got put on the back burner.

I remember seeing your thread Wizz, thats what gave me the idea of seeing if people were interested in this design. I have a cylinder shaped shift **** and really like the feel so I thought I'd make one similar, but with a rotary look to it. I want to see if people are interested to see if I should make more than one. Either way once my seven is back on the road I'll have one of these for myself.
