Any interest in an R.P.M. Throttle Body Elbow?
Hey everyone, I'm wondering if there is enough interest in some cast aluminum TB elbows for Turbo 2's?
I have some demand for them when building FMIC's and really the only source for them is through Greddy, which always seem to be on backorder and take forever to have shipped.
So I'm thinking of having some produced.
They will be made of cast aluminum and have a 2.5" inlet with an air intake temp sensor bung already tapped.
I'm figuring the price for each TB elbow would be $70US
So to get the ball rolling I'd like to see at least 25 units either pre-sold or have LOTS of interest to go ahead with having a mold made up.
Let me know what you think!
Joe

if its going to be that much, I'm in. I am not wanting the greddy as the inlet just seems restrictive. But if you make a quality piece and it doesn't interfere with the oil filler pipe, I'm in... Just to start things. Hit me with a pm if you wanna talk about deposit.
If you can do them for $70, you beat Higgi's price by 30 dollars...just make sure to smooth the inside of the mold a bit, I could use Higgi's elbows to shave my cat!!
But sorry to say I've already got one...maybe one day I'd need another?

Aaron, I'm going to pm Boosted7 to see what I need to do, plus....I'm just checking interest to see if it will be worth my time and money to produce these....not selling anything yet.
We will make sure it can clear the oil fill neck and the elbow will be smooth. I've seen Higgis and I'm not sure what type of casting he uses, but these will be very nice. We could also offer them polished for a few bucks extra.

I would be in if they were ready in a timely fashion. Otherwise if the wait is going to be for friggin ever- like other parts "offered" I am just going to mold myself one out of CF/Kevlar composite and call it a day.
Are you going to make it look something like this? This works really well. These pics are a little old and I have made several changes but the pipe is still in place, just less cluttered.

Once we have everything sorted out for clearance ect, then it will take about a month to have the mould made and start producing them.
Rotorhead34 - I'm making these for Turbo FC's....not N/A's

Ok, it seems that there is definatly some interest in this....
In the next few weeks I'll be finishing the 'prototype' to make sure it fits exactly where it should, then sending it off to get a mould made.
If anyone else is interested, please post here!

So, it's not $30.
As for being "smooth"...
I dunno what you're looking for, but a mirror smooth finish actually hurts airflow.
Sure, it's rough casted, but the units were made to compete with the GReddy unit.
I'm not sure what this RPM unit looks like, but I'd like to see what the finished product looks like before making any commitments.
