Any help? I have searched, tried several methods, can't remove inner tie rod...PICS
I am nearing the halfway mark of getting my engine bay and sub frame/suspension refinished and reassembled. I got new springs, and now I only await my ordered struts and camber/caster plates to get my car back together and on the ground so I can begin rewiring. Except for this ******* tie rod. I had some trouble with the driver side one, but as I removed it, that little cotter pin thing that lodges against the threads just popped up and fell out of the hole, and then the rod end came out fine. This time, it is definitely seized. I have tried drilling out the cotter pin, melting out the cotter pin, and just heating the area of the actuator arm before the rod end threads. As can be seen, I have begun to damage the smooth area a little with tools. Has been soaked in everything I could think of to break the threads. One thing I have noticed: there is a hole drilled through the actuator arm on this side of the power steering rack right at the end of where the inner tied rod threads to. The other side doesn't have that. Should I be using this little hole for something? I already tried jamming something through it for leverage and that broke. I also sprayed rust buster into it because I think I can see the end of the inner tie rod at the edge of this hole, if you know what I mean. Anyways, pics included. I am about to go out searching for longer wrenches or tools that might get me more leverage on it.

I was pretty sure of that. I read a tutorial that said not to worry about it, and on the other side I didn't have to. Hmmm, I will google roll pin removal. Anyone here have a method? As I said up top, I have tried to remove every way I can think of, drilling, a hook, heat, cold, screw extractor. Any thing else?

Finally....it broke loose! I ended up holding a low temp torch directly on the pin for about 5 minutes, then drilling it while spraying cold water on it to cool the pin quicky and make it stick to the drill. Worked like a charm!
