any answer on this one???

OK guys whats up..a friend of mine has just done a swap...its a 88 gxl with FULL turbo 2 swap...motor,harness,rear end.... ok so now heres the problem...we got the car started yesterday and the not knowing that the gas gauge wasnt working the car cut off on us and now is not starting back...When we put gas back in the car it started up for like 2 mins then sht off but while it was on it was smoking out white smoke THEN black smoke and it wasnt staying on unless we gased the **** outta it..NOW its ONLY cranking away....there's both fuel and spark..We took the UIM off and pulled the rail and cranked the car and the injectors were spraying...so we put everything back together and still the same thing is going on.....Does anyone know what else is there to check?? the motor is a jspec from nippon motors, and i know that the pump i nthe car is still an NA pump......Oh and one more question...the pump doesnt spray until the car is cranking.....why is that???anyone?? thanks guys

how new is the motor? White smoke sounds bad... like coolant seal bad. Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I believe from all the reading I have done that white is bad... black and blue is do-a-bull ... but white bad?

blue is oil which could be oil seals, white is coolant which is bad also, black is running rich.

You never know what gets into a motor. We had a similar thing happen when we swapped a dead 1st gen motor out. It smoked white so bad the cloud covered 2 blocks. after 20 mins of idling, and a few laps around the block, it cleaned right up, and the car runs mint. Prolly just need to get the junk out.

and the fuel pump will only run for 2 seconds to build preassure, then stop. if oyu want though, put a wire between the 2 conections on the yellow conector by the afm. it will keep the pump on all the time, and is good when you rebuild the engine, or remove preassure form the fuel system.

Ona series four car: The fuel pump ONLY runs if the key is HELD to START.

OR, the engine actually starts and keeps running.

OR, if the key is to ON and the fuel pump check connector is jumpered.

By the way, you KNOW the fuel lines on a JDM are connected to the engine just opposite of the USA version. Yes, I knew you knew that, but just in case.

Another thing, with the fuel pump check connector jumpered and key to ON, you SHOULD be able to hear the CONSTANT flow of fuel thru the rails back to the tank. CONSTANT FLOW.

well if coolant was fouling the plugs, but still... sounds like its getting too much fuel pressure or leaking injectors, are the injectors clean? or are they old ones?
