any amount of driveshaft play normal?

when i was under my car recently, i found i was able to turn the driveshaft a little bit before the lsd stopped it. i don't remember very well, but i seem to remember it rotating at least a 1/4 or so before stopping. is this a normal amount of play, or could this cause the bucking on decel problem? (only sometimes).

There should be some play in the driveshaft (you're talking when it's mounted right?), but I think a 1/4-turn is too much!
IIRC, I think about 1/2" of play is "normal".

Yeah, that made more sense!
1/4" is normal!

Happy New Year!
