Well its a sad day in the Rx world...another FC just bit the dust...Here's what I saw/heard/determined what happend...My friend was driving (of course he said he only had 2 drink-don't really know) and he was coming around a turn--not to big of a turn and was going to pass this guy in the right lane up... what happen next is...lets take a look at what condition the car has been in---first the engine is not in best of shape(not a problem per say); next the car has the spings cut, worn out shocks, the swaybar on the passenger side is not connected (as it broke at the end-links), worn out brakes (enough that the e-brake bairly functions), worn tires (walmart specials here) and some other minor problems not really a factor here...now on with the story...so he's coming around at (he says) not fast (now this is on a street where the limit is 35mph) and supposedly the car loses control (more like he did) and he slides about 15 ft into the other lane at an angle then into a curb--then 40 more feet into a parking area hit a parked car then a curb then went 15 more feet ending up in the grass(see attached for a diagram)...
the car he hit moved about 90 degree from its parked position into a grassy median(see diagram)!!Now my diagram is not to scale but the skid is about 70 feet long so I guessing his speed was around 80mph...He has been arrested because of the total damage done and a bunch of other crap... so moral of story is: Don't drink/drive and don't drive an RX-7 when u totally F@%* it up to where it can't drive/handle/brake worth a crap!!!

 

That sucks man! Hope he dosn't get in alot of trouble for that... that could really hurt him in the long run.

 

well he's already in a bunch of crap ie-tickets/warrents...I don't want to be in his shoes right now!!!
This all happened about 4.5 hours ago (about 1am Mon)

 

poor rx7, neglected and abused .

however, it is hard to feel sorry for someone getting in trouble when it sounds like they got exactly they wages they were working for.

yea the diagram---well what do you expect at 4:30 in the mornining!!! I could have busted out the drafting scale ruler, but I felt that was a litly excessive!!! I just relized my math was a little off (ie 4.5-4.5=0 not 1...another side effect of needing sleep!)

 

feel bad for the 7 not for the goon, drinking and not bothering to look after his car.. he deseves more then he'll get most likely.
