Another TII idle thread, help before i kill myself.
ok so here it is, there may be info included that is uneccesary but here it goes:
I have an idle issue that i cant get. it starts up pretty easily and idles up to like 2k for 10-15 sec and then dies if i don't give it gas by the time it dies a few times i can get the idle to stick but it surges between 1.2 and 1.7 k. I have checked all vac lines and also ran an unlit propane torch around with no change to the surging idle.
Here is the recent work done:
87 TII, no PS, no AC, removed rats nest, no emissions whatsoever, TB mod, no thermowax, open downpipe, brand new TPS (adjusted correctly), all gaskets and vac lines replaced except the LIM to block gasket. I kept twin scroll but removed bac. re-routed fuel lines, had injectors cleaned, soldered new injector clips in (one at a time), the ecu is throwing no codes. i get 11.6V at the fuel pump with the initial set jumped and car not running ( i know that is low). i noticed that it looks like the PO tried to pry the UIM and LIM apart w/ screwdriver and nicked it up a little, so i used a little rtv and hoped for the best. i tested the bac connector with a 1/4 watt 10k ohm resistor and it olny read .1 on the 200 ACV setting on my multimeter, it supposedly should read 5-7v? ive also cleaned up the ecu ground and regrounded it to the block.
What am i missing?
Can anyone help? i have been working on this damn issue for weeks now.

check the turbo intake pipe and make sure it is not craked or loose. How did you adjust the TPS with the lights or with the multimeter? was the car at operating temp when adjusted the TPS?

i cant get my car to idle long enough to get to operating temp, i dont have fast idle cam though, so i didn't think it was a huge issue. i actually adjusted it with the multimeter while lights were plugged in. idle voltage was set to 1v and one light went out. i checked my TID and there are no apparent cracks but the rubber is rather hard on the compressor side. all hose clamps have been checked and seem just fine (the 2 or 3 i didn't replace yet).
I also forgot to mention that i tested my coils and replaced all spark plugs. I have tested the compression the best i could by myself. (plugged the hole with a bolt and propped the guage so i could see it from inside), i got three even bounces all the way up to about 80 on each rotor. I did olny crank it for about 10 seconds.
could it be my ecu? would low compression cause a surging idle?

the way you adjusted your sensor is totally diferent to how i do it. i normally adjust it using ohms. Ive never heard of adjusting it by voltage unless youre talking about the LED method but for experience i prefer the multimeter way. not saying that its wrong but maybee this link will help you.

lol, i must have forgotten to add that i did that too... as a matter of fact that is how i knew my old one was bad... it lit one light at idle and read .98v and then checking resistance, i noticed at wot it overloaded my 200k ohm setting, and didnt have an even sweep from idle to wot.
this is especially annoying because i have seemingly done everything i can think of other than taking off the turbo and lim to replace the gasket and then replace the chewed up UIM and LIM. I have checked every site i can think of (fc3spro, teamfc3s, the archives here, the faq's), and nothing has given me any additional help.

yeah i know how you feel. I just had to pull all that stuff out because i was leaking water by the O- rings. It's not hard at all and i went ahead and replaced all the vaccum hoses, gaskets and Injector plugs and seals and a whole lot of other crap i found once i took appart.
