Another thread of random Q's

So I bought me a 87 RX7 for $650. Does'nt run. Not important. I bought a S5 JSpec TII Front Clip, comes with everything from the shifter foward, tranny and all. Also went out to a junkyard and bought the TII Driveshaft, and rear end w/ halfshafts. Now I have done SR20 swaps before, so I am not to new in this area. But I do not have the 13B completely laid out in my mind yet. I am still working on learning the entire thing. My questions are as follows.
  • What problems am I going to run into putting this S5 TII JDM engine in a S4 N/A?
  • Will I need to change the Interior Dash harness out for the JDM one?
  • What things in the engine bay will I need to swap out?
  • Will doing the 60k Maitience be a good idea?
  • What procedures should I follow in any certain area?
  • I bought a MOMO seat to replace the old seat that was in there, I misread somewhere that it had a 2nd gen mounting bracket available. What do I do? Make a custom bracket?

I did read alot of the threads in the archive, but these are the questions that would like direct answers for or could not make sence of the explanation.

Thanks.

Also will the 87 Cluster work with the Jspec S5 TII? If not thats fine since I have a place to get a S5 TII USDM Cluster.

covered in countless threads you may wish to search, but basic problems will be related to the front cover MOP and electrical issues. You need to read n.a to turbo conversions in the tech section here: http://www.rotaryresurrection.com/

Will I need to change the Interior Dash harness out for the JDM one?
You'll need to build a custom harness or modify the existing harnesses to work with the motor. It is not a electrical plug and play by any means. Are you thinkng you are just gonna get a JDM engine electrical harness and plug it in??? If so you are sadly mistaken. #1 JDM engine harnesses are almost impossible to find complete, #2 it wouldn't plug into a S4 non turbo dash harness anyway.
What things in the engine bay will I need to swap out?
AFM, boost pressure sensor engine mounts, tranny mounts.
Will doing the 60k Maitience be a good idea?
it is always a good idea
What procedures should I follow in any certain area?
??? The FSM I suppose

Yes, you would make a custom bracket
