Angry another rx-7 failed!!

hey guys i just got back from the emissions place and i failed

I got a custom exhaust with a high flow cat..
but before i blame the exhaust what else can i do??
like adjust tps and stuff like that...
just so you guys know my hydrocarb were 1.24 when they should of been .80
and my carbon monixide was 18.2 when it should of been 15.0 so i was kinda close in both of them
I would of passed but at the 160th sec of testing my car peaked off the sheet in both the HC and CO
check sig for car mods

i drove the car really hard before i took it to the station
so that can't be the problem...
I don' have that pipe going back to the cat though
can you describe it more
i know i have a pipe that was welded to the cat to accept something like a pipe but it's not connected to anything

If you have your ACV hooked up and functional, there is a great trick to lower your numbers signifigantly. Disconnect the forward vacuum line on the ACV, and cap it off. It will lower your CO numbers like a MO FO!!

The pipe going to the cat is the split air from the ACV. Is your ACV even installed?? What about your air pump?

The red arrows point to the ACV and the vacuum line you disconnect and cap in order to pass emissions.

that means your air/pump and ACV are not hooked up to the cat. you need to get his hooked by up.

Blue88GXL,

Scott 89t2 is right. You need to have the tube that goes from the ACV to the cat hooked up for the cat to function properly. It needs the extra air provided to provide oxygen to burn the excess fuel in the exhaust. This is the reason that cars have airpumps in the first place to provide this air. I added a green arrow to J-rats pic cause it is the top part of the metal tube that leads down to the cat. The rubber hose that it is attatched to connects to the back of the ACV.
