ah yes sorry kevin I forgot there are engine builders on this furm The only thing I wish you did was port the engines. I was wondering if that was dirty south and from what I heard I don't like the way he does business.

Any "free porting" is generally crap...It take a good two hours to make a decent port. Multiply that by 6 or 8 ports (depending on engine) and you have a lot of time....No shop in their right mind would give out that much time for free, so free porting is generally a 20 minute job with a junk grinding stone...Crappy porting is easy to hide, since most people don't see their engine's ports...

yeah I could understand that but I don't know if you do it to your first 20 or so cusomers and you get a good reputation it is priceless

A shop that defines their ports in stages is a bad idea. Sort of like clutches. I like to test out local rice shops by asking what kinda of clutch I should get for a specific aplication. If they say stage 3 I get the hell out of there. The one shop that said full organic face with a heavy duty Pressure Plate, I'd let them work on my car.

kevin does port engines, the price was listed on his site as $200...even does 6ports......and you CAN feel the difference
