annoying squeak

im getting this super high pitched, super annoying squeak coming from around where my idiot light cluster is. it sounds like how mice squeak except ten times louder. it only squeaks when i go over a bump or stuff like that. i can stop it momentarily if i push hard on the idiot light pod or if i slam on the dash with my hand or other objects. its soooooooooooooooooooooo annoying. any ideas of what it is or a fix?

Sounds like you'll have to take something apart to investigate. There are alot of little parts and screws that could have shaken loose in there over the past 15 years.

I had a nosie in my roof that drove me insane for the first three months I had my car. It was just a loose screw that allowed a metal piece to shift and rattle. Once I actually started taking things apart I found the offending screw in a few minutes.

Good luck!

Yup, definately take some things apart and see. Be carefull though since alot of that plastic can break over the years of sun exposure!

I had this terrible squeek in the back of my 91 vert...come to find out it was the spare tire rubbing on the metal! (vert's have their spares mounted sideways under the top)

Anyway, good luck!
