Am i leaning out?

I recently purchased stock 87 turbo2, with a filter and no bolts on the DP(open DP) and the last owner may have gutted out the cat..anyway, 1st time driving on the freeway last night in 4th gear my boost shot up considerabily higher than 1-3 gears, accroding to the stock boost gauge.

so with the current "mods" the car has now should i be careful about leaning? also what PSI is it when a FCD becomes a must?

thanks~!

get an air/fuel gauge or an apex s-air fuel controller , if ur car is leaning out... since u have a few mods... even tho i dont think it would be ... but one good run with more air than fuel can destroy the engine ,, believe me.. it happened to my neighboor...

Port your w/g. Are you hitting fuel cut?

What do you mean open downpipe? If the dp isn't connected to anything, why would it matter if the cats are gutted? I may have misunderstood what you meant.

Fuel cut is at 8.6psi or 445mmHg, which is off the stock gauge's scale. Get an aftermarket guage ASAP.
