how do i do abench test on a altinator..in junk yard if you know what imean.. my 86 (70amp) to 89-92 (90amp)....Could i do with a oem tester ??? OUT

 

the 89-91 alt is only 80 amps, not 90, and on the bench you could only check diodes, you couldn't check operation without hooking it up and spinning it.

Take it too an auto aprts store, most can tell you if it is okay (but won't be able to tell you if it puts out full amperage on load).
