Isn't there some sort of modification involved from s4 to s5? It's an s4 vert n/a. I should've specified.

If I can get my FD alt working I'll have a spare s4 alt, but I think I might be missing a part. I'll let you know if I get it working today, though.

I don't think I'm gonna have it up soon. It appears that I lost the spacer for the pulley. Sorry.
You can try junk yard diving, though. I know of a few around here, though questionable in whether they work or not. You can make sure you let them know and they will usually mark it then let you go test it and return it if its bad.

I would reccomend spending a little more on an alternator for one with a lifetime warrenty. Ask the auto parts store to print the reciept on a 8.5x11 piece of pape and stick it in your owners manual.

I used a few washers for mine. Works great. I have an FD alt though.

Well, its for an FD alt. I got the pulley and spacer together, but I lost the damn spacer. I will need to do the wiring anyway, it could be a while depending on how busy I am.

You can also call the store and give them your information and they can look up the info. I just did that because I "misplaced" the receipt.

^ Thing is, your personal information is always in the computer but your purchase information may only be in there for a couple years. After that, your reciept is not worth a damn because most of the time the print wares off and you now have no proof of purchase even in their database. Which is why I say have them print it on standard paper so it lasts for many more years to come.

Yeah, that's a good idea, I was just saying what I did. Mine only lasted about a year. Now it doesn't charge enough if I use the brakes and headlights.

See if you can get your hands on a smaller sized pulley. Such as the ones for the FD alts. Except find one that fits on the FC shaft.
