Alternator Question???

Alternator Question???

It there any upgrades for our alternators??? Beefier, than can handle a little more draw from the battery???

nothing that is a dirrect bolt in... the FD ones go in with a little bit of work.

or if you have an S4 the S5 will go in too which is inbetween the S4 and FD.

I was told from my Alternator guy that the most you could upgrade a given Alternator Is 20 amps but at the expense of the life of the Alternator being shortened. (pros/cons) This Is primarily due to the shaft of the Alternator not being upgraded.

Have you considered upgraing to an FD Alternator (100amperes)?

Slight rewire and reboring of the pulley.

I went another direction, and fit an aftermarket 200 amp alternator from another car.
