Angry Alternator Died

Well, I guess it was inevitable. My battery died before, and I charged it overnight and got it working again, but now it went out for good. I can run my car for an hour, and as soon as I turn it off, it doesn't even have the power to push my seatbelt forward when I open the door. So looks like I need a new alternator (unless maybe its a bad battery? But I don't think the battery is that old). Anyway, where would I wanna go to get a good alternator. Im not in any real hurry, as I have my truck to drive around in. I'm willing to spend the extra money now so I don't have to go replacing it again anytime soon. So does anyone know where a good place to get an alternator that will last would be? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I recently purchased a lifetime guarantee alternator for my '86NA from Autozone. It cost a tad less than 100 dollars. Mazda wanted over $160 (jobber net) just for the voltage regulator. They asked over $215 for the alt.

I love my local Car Quest store because the owner and I are long time friends and I can snoop through the books whenever I need to if I am looking for something odd. I am forced by economics to shop at Autozone for the large ticket items though. Most of their counter help are fairly ignorant as far as good parts persons go, but their computer system is set up for dummies to use.

trust me on this and get one from mazda. i know it cost alot, but at least you won't be trading in your alternator every 4months or so. when i had my turbo 2 i went trhe cheap way and bought the autozone alternator. guess what. i changed that thing every couple of months.
