alternator current question!

alternator current question!

just got a j-spec alternator, does it put out more current than the rebuilt piece of sh*t that is on my car right now? It i an 87 na. thanks for your help.

if you got the same year alternator, 86-88 then its still the same 70amps, if its 89-91 then it'll be 80 amps

just uses a different connector ..you can either cut and change to the other plug or make 2 jumper wires and use your connector and plug it to the alternator

cool.... are there any other benifits to the 89-91 alternator? does it weigh more? are the pulleys the same?

is there a difference between a turbo one and an NA one? cuase that is what i got was a jspec 87 turbo alt.

I thought the S4 is 60amps and the S5 is 70? Either way, all you have to do is go to like discount auto parts or whatever and tell them you need an alternator for an 89 rx7 and they'll take yours in for a core. They probably won't know the difference, they didn't for me

Pullies are the same. A little bit bigger but not much. Also, as you know, It pumps out more juice. The Plug Is different though. Very easy to swap.

If you are Interested In a practically new s5 Alternator and Plug, I could give you a good deal on one I have. PM me for details.
