Alternater B+ wire

I'm looking to replace the positive wire on the alternator. I would think it would go strait to the battery, but it looks to go to the rear of the car. Does it connect to the starter? or some sort of relay? I've looked in the FSM and the picture confirms it goes twards the tranny, and the diagram confirms it goes the battary?

Can I just wire the new one strait to the battery or fuse box?

The wire goes from the battery, to the starter and up to the alternator. It doesn't have an external solenoid like a Ford truck...its on top of the starter.

The B+ wire actually goes to the car side of the 80A main fuse, not directly to the battery.

Ok I wired it directly to the fuse box. it was getting power all the way to the alt but I got no power to the inside. so somwhere there must be a stop that matters. I just added a secound wire from the alt to the fuse box and still have both the original wires hooked up. problem is that didn't charge the battery for ****. woke up to a dead battery. So where is the first spot this wire connects to somthing. If I replace it from there all should work like its supose too. BTW I just checked the alt and was getting 13.5 V at idle.

B+ Goes to directly to the battery.
L & R hook into B+ with a check relay in between.

Sounds like your alt is bad too it should be putting out 14.3-14.7 volts at idle.

Exactly what is the problem you are trying to fix?

Is your 80A fuse blown?

fuse is not blown. I was having weak electrical and it was due to this wire shorting out. I tryed connecting the fuse box directly to the alternator, but got no power inside the car except for interior lights. but no sterio. windows wouldn't roll up or down. Now I have both wires and it seems to be not chargeing the battary. alternator tests good. I was getting 13.5V at the battery at idle no elecrical on. witch still is good. long as its getting at least that amount.

OK, the first step is to put the wiring back to stock. Check the diagrams in the FSM/Haynes. Once it is back to stock and in a known state, it will be easier to figure out the problem.

You have no power but interior lights? Check the ignition switch.

I put the stock wire back on and kept my wire from alt to 80A fuse and all worked. it did solve the problem I was having, but the issue is it didn't charge the battery.
