alt? gnd? i checked everywhere

first off, i've been searching for at least 2 hrs now.

i've had way too many problems but here's another. i'll give as much detail as possible. the car runs fine for now but...

1. alt died after draining battery down to 8v (optima red top)
2. replaced alt (autolie reman) + all new belts (goodyear belts)
3. ign on/acc = e-brake/seatbelt/check lights on... all others off then fade on
4. when the car is on volts read 13 on the dash (or whatever the next line is) + all the lights are on (like the alt is dying)
5. all the lights get bright as i go faster (volt stays the same)
6. all the lights turn off (volt goes to 12)
7. car runs fine, no power loss, batt is at 12 when off

possible known causes(problems in general):
1. belts are squeaking on downshifts (i think it's the air pump belt, alt belt is tight) and a little while shifting
2. oil metering pump (i think it's this or something in that are) is leaking onto a heater hose and a black/red wire (i don't where it goes)
3?. the dome light is intermittent (works 1-50 times, used to work well)

thank ahead of time to anyone that can help

Is the plug on the rear of the alternator plugged in?

Also, what is the condition of the power feed from the alternator to the fuse box? These tend to burn out after high current draws.

Have you checked all grounds?

also it has kind of a hard start and it only goes up to 1500 sometimes. other times it goes to 3000 then slowly goes down.

ok i went out and tried to check the error codes and the driver's did something and the passenger side didn't, so scratch the passenger side. now on the driver's side. i grounded it and the light stayed on for only 4 seconds (solid, no blinking) then turned off and wouldn't come back on. when i "ungrounded" (i don't know if that's even a word) the CEL wire it, the CEL stayed on and the other idiot lights were dim.
