Alright, What'd I Break?

I stopped and got some gas on my way home tonight; everything was running perfectly. Fill 'er up, hop in, turn the key and the seat belt only retracts half way. Open my door and close it but it refuses to budge. Alright, so I turn the car off, wait 10 seconds and turn it on again. Now, not only is the seatbelt stuck in the same position but all my guages are dead... Tach, voltmeter, oil pressure, fuel guage, temp... all are down at below zero. The speedo still works but I assume that's because it's cable driven. Get home, try the whole thing again and get the same result. What should I check/replace tomorrow and try to get my DD working again? The seatbelt was replaced due to the recall a few years back and has been working flawlessly until today. I've read Icemark's posts about checking the "meter" fuse so that's on my list, but anything else?

the fuse takes less time to check than to type this, check that first and any other fuses that sound like they may be related to the circuits.

lol, well i hope it was just due to an old brittle fuse, is it holding up ok now?

always check the easy things first, most people tend to overthink things around here.

I'm 6'5"... that fuse box is my mortal ENEMY... heh.

Did the seatbelt break again, or was did something blow the fuse causing it to stop working?

Apparently the meter fuse causes the driver's side seatbelt not to retract, the idiot lights not to come on, and all the guages to turn on. Kinda' weird since that's not what the FSM says it does (which is why I asked if there was anything else I could check). Threw in the spare 10 amp and everything came back to life, imagine that. She's holding up well now, I still have no idea how I blew it or if it was just a spontanious thing. I'm 6'5" as well and that thing is in a worse spot than my old toyota pickup.

Although it does make you want to know how it was blown in the first place. What could cause this?
