Ok, Strange problem just arised. When i hit the brakes, the gauge cluster lights up...if the lights are off that is.

Fuse maybe? A short? Maybe my alternator???

If your talking about the instrument lights it aint a fuse. There is a possability that the stop lights are shorting to your parking lights. Bad bulb or socket. The parking lights are connected to your dash lights. Have someone look at your parking lights when you hit the brakes. If they come on you should have an easy solution...

As we discussed on the phone this afternoon, you probably put a 1156 bulb into a Brake light (which takes a 1157 bulb).
