What are you trying to do specifically? Remove the console that leads up to the stick shift section?

Just removing the surround bits above the shifter...

From the vents, down (climate control + radio surround, etc.)...

It's easy.
Remove ashtray to access the two lower retaining screws.
Remove center vent to access the two upper retaining screws.
Done.

If you have an S4, be really careful when you take out the center vents. Personally, I'm about 70% failure rate for getting those out without breaking them. If you do break them, the S5 surround is much, much better.

S5 vert. Luckily it's the latter...

Isn't one plasticky and the other more rubbery?

Yeah, the S4 is really brittle plastic. The rubberized coating (I think it's just a coating) on the S5 gives it some flexibility before it breaks.

A pillars own me. I think my failure rate on FC A Pillar removal (with a tool) is about 95%. FD A Pillars...100% success!

LOL. That's NOT very reassuring....

All I have to do is Dremel off the heads of the damned rivets and my A-Pod comes off... That's why I was asking about surround removal.... Deep-sixing the A-Pod is first, then doing my mock-up for the recessing, 3-gauge-pod, at the idiot tray.

We got anyone, in our local employ that I can send some tri-axis cad files to, to try and get some poly-forms made?
