ALMOST done, turbo swap
ALMOST done, turbo swap
So i searched but couldnt find anything. Im almost done with my turbo swap just got a few more questions( sorry guys for all the questions). ok so its a 88 vert getting an s4 turbo motor. Does the na and the turbo ecu use the same baro?
no takers... maybe you guys can help me out withhow the throttle cable hooks up ive got it hooked to the throttle but where the supports bolt to i have no idea? thanks for nay help guys.,
I believe the barometric pressure sensor is the same..
Pressure sensor is different. You need one from a turbo car. The NA one was never meant to see positive manifold pressure.
Are you using the turbo throttle cable or frankensteining the NA one?

oo so i bought an exhaust used and a motor used and guess what both dont have the bolts that hold the exhaust to the turbo..DAMNIT.... ive runn into a million and 3 problems with this project so far the biggest being that its 300 miles from where i live. I tried searcxhing but couldnt find exactly the size of the nut that holds it on if anyone has it i would love you forever. ive got one day left to try and get this project back to my house or else another 3 months before i get back out here.. ill be going over to home depo tomorrow but dont really want to take off the turbo because everything else is already on and i dont have knew gaskets for the lim.....thanks for all the help guys.

ok so someone didnt want this project to go easy for me.... 2 black cables for the battary. so the way ive got them hooked up now has the door noise when the door is open so i think thats right but no crank at all pretty sure the battary is dead. also anyone using the corksport 3 1/8 exhaust if so how do you get that bottom nut on...by the way 10 by 1.5 perfect fit. im about to go try jumping it and hopeing for the best... thanks for all the help guys
Putting the battery cables on backwards can be an easy way to fry electronic devices.
NO cranking could be bad battery or bad connection
As for the Barometric sensor. I used the stock NA one for my car.

cool. yea i know it will fry the battary the odd thing is that the lights inside the car work but when i try to turn the car over i get a loud click like circuit break at first i thought it was the starter but its before i even get to the start position. this makes me think that the battary is backwards i dont want to try flipping it because of the electrical system being that the lights inside work which i dont think they would if it was backwards.
digi i live real close to you. are you saying for a turbo ecu the na baro works? boy do i love pics
so thats the battery hooked up negative being closer to the bumper im almost sure thats correct. please if its not someone yell at me.. there is no ground from the engine to the chassis there is the ground by the top starter bolt but nothing derictly from the engine to chassis i think that may be part of the problem. any input is greatly appreciated thanks guys

It can fry delicate electrical thing slike your ECU.
The yellow stripe indicates ground/Negative.
The main ground goes directly to the starter because of the power it needs to crank.
Have you had the battery tested? Clicking once you try to turn over the car sounds like a bad connection at the battery which is preventing full voltage/amp.
The positive shoudl be the cable which goes to the big 80amp fuse on the drivers strut tower.
