Exclamation ALL warning lights come on while driving!!!!

I was driving on the freeway and all of a sudden ALL the warning lights turn on, even the shift light and the gas pedal gives for a split sec. Then a couple of seconds later they turn off. A min later they turn back on and stay on for the rest of my drive home ~ 4 miles. The car idled fine so I turned it off......then started it again and they stayed on....

anyone know whats up?

thanks

Drew

it's either your alternator or alternator belt.

That happened to me when my alternator belt broke. My car ran for about a week, then the battery started going out and had to put a new belt on. LOL

uh oh...

double alt pulley usually means that you've removed your air pump...

..which means that ONLY the alternator belt is turning the water pump...

I hope you didn't drive it tooooo long without a turning water pump.. 4 miles sounds like a lot.. Did you see the temp go up?

I had the same thing happen to me... i made it maybe 1/8 mile before I noticed... temp was already 3/4 of the way up, and it was pissing coolant... not nice.. very, very close to overheating.
