All the warning lights come on

I havea 86' Fc the GXL model. Now when i left off the gas to stop sometimes all the little warning lights in the center of the dash come on along with the up shift light, and sometimes there is a buzzing noise sounds like it is coming from the drivers kick panels. DOes anyone know what that could be. I have heard of the big solders on the cpu coming loose. Could this be a cause of that? Any info would be helpful.

one of the reasons the whole idiot cluster would light up is a bad alternator... it happend to me, and i thought nothing of it till the motor quit on me a couple days later while i was on the freeway... the alt gave way and that was that. try checking the volts of it with a volt meter, or take it in somewhere and have them check it.

Yeah, alt failure is the most common reason.

Should be easy to see... the car's voltage (on the voltmeter in the gauge cluster on N/A FCs) the voltage should always be above 13.5 volts, and no lower than 12.6 ever. If it is under 12.6 volts then the alt is not even working and the battery is discharging.

The EXACT same thing just happened to me a few minutes ago. Went to the store to get some studying food, and there was this weird buzzing noise coming from the area around the headlight switch!

The buzzing goes away when I'm accelerating, but comes back when I'm stopped/idling. Also, every light on the warning cluster was coming on intermittently.

The voltage gauge has been reading around 12volts ever since I had the alternator replaced a few weeks ago with a remanufactured one from Mazda. I even notice the lights dim occasionally when I apply the brakes, and the heater doesn't blow as hard with headlights/rear defrost/radio on. Guess I'd better check the alternator...

The "buzzing" that you guys are hearing is the charge failure relay in the CPU. It starts to activate when the voltage gets too low.

Hey Mark, if low charge causes all of the warning lights to come on, then what's the CHARGE warning light for? Under what conditions does it come on on it's own?
