Where are all the VIN plates? I know of the dash and the firewall. Oh and the door jam. Where else is there a vin plate? I may be going to do a vin plate swap for my TII because there are a lot of problems with the registration and I have a perfectly good tittle/reg. from Raquel(tear).

VIN sticker in the door jamb, one rivited on to the dash, one stamped into a plate with your paint code attached with phillips head screws to the firewall, and one VIN stamped directly into the firewall.
The only one a Car needs to have, in Canada, is the one stamped into the firewall... changing it between cars requires some precision cutting, welding, grinding, filling, and painting. I would never do it, though. Not worth the risk to void your insurance.

Pretty big fines for a shop if they get caught doing that... makes them suspect as a chop shop, too. That being said, I am sure finding one to do it wouldn't be even remotely hard.

Guess what happens when you hit body filler with a hammer... it breaks off.
Guess what happens when you hit a piece of sheet metal with a drive without a rigid piece of metal behind it (like a anvil).... you get a dent.
Guess what happens when you cannot find punches to even closely resemble stock lettering... you get put in jail for insurance fraud.

the panel is on the firewall, about 6-8" to the right of the cruise control vacuum housing. It's near the top of the firewall, pretty easy to get to.. I'd imagine it wouldn't be hard if you owned your own welder to mod one in, as it's raised up.. I don't think the punch method would work, but it may be worth a call to "Just ask, rental!' to see about a MIG
