It corrects the AFR in closed loop mode

Closed loop mode operates at low throttle (crusing and so) and you can see it by the AFR jumping up and down.

All other times, it is unused by the ECU.

This is not true on certain, more modern cars that remap the ECU constantly.

After a while, it'll enable the ECU to go into 'feedback mode', which basically, when you hold the throttle in a pretty even spot for about 20 seconds, it'll attempt to get the AF/Ration as close to 13.7:1 as possible to save your gas mileage. That's all I know that it does. This is the 'closed loop' mode.

Twenty seconds? According the the A/F gauge on my car, it kicks in, in about two or three seconds!

PS: Sorry for the bad grammer, I make up for it with bad spelling!

I was just guesstimating, never actually timed it. Could be less. Most of the time I'm always WOT or completely off, so I have no idea.

You drive that way to destroy cicadas when your throttle plates slam shut, right?

But of course! Can't drive any other way, else they might take out an apex!

So your safc reads either 100% or 0% throttle Thatd be an interesting way to drive.
