Alarm installation, jspec
Hey guys im in the middle of trying to install an alarm on my jspec s5 I have done a search on the thread and it keeps pointing me to an ecu under the drivers kick panel. Now im getting a bit confused as mine is jspec, will the ecu still be in the same spot (which will make it passenger side instead of drivers) or should i be looking for an ecu under my drivers side. Is i a seperate ecu or the big factory one under the carpet in the passenger footwell???

No, alarm wiring goes to the CPU, not the ECU.
ECU = engine computer (silver box with three plugs on the bottom)
CPU = Body computer (black box with two or three plugs in it (top, middle, bottom)

Well i thought it would have to be a pos output to make the lights flash, the diagram shows the output going to a circle with an x (is that a bulb) then to an earth

Aftermarket alarms should have a jumper to select the polarity of the parking light outputs. Look at the quick reference diagram in the back of the manual, it should show you where it's at. On most DEI it's either exposed, or under a removable panel on the front of the brain. Most of the time it's a little jumper, sometimes it's a 10 amp fuse.

I would hop on directechs.com and find out for you, but my password isn't working anymore. Get out the multimeter and probe some wires. You just need to hook it up to the parking light wire. Find the wires from the switch, turn on the parking lights and probe the plug until the wire is 12v while the lights are on and nothing when it's off.

Got under there then with the test light, managed to locate the plug at the bottom of the flasher cam it was hiding from me before only concern now is when i put the indicator on there are 2 wires putting out the signal, like when i put the left indicator on there is 2, when i put the right on there is a different 2, if i just hook em up to one of each will it be alright? Would it be like a front and rear output??
