Alarm driver door trigger
hi everyone
ok, um i did a quick search but didn't find anything
well my friend helped me install an aftermarket alarm in my 89 T2 and it has auto re-arm after 30 seconds
so if i disarm the system, and don't open doors or trunk, my alarm will re-arm....
thing is, when i open my driver's door the dome lights come on (of course) and the door symbol comes on and i need to close the door to arm the alarm (meaning the door trigger does work, and i did check it)
but when i open the driver's door when disarm... the alarm re-arms in 30 seconds (sounds confusing)
when i open the passanger door, it doesn't auto re-arm
is my driver's door trigger broken or is it something else that is causing that problem...

I'm asuming the passenger door trigger works as well?(turns on light?)
How is the alarm hooked up to the doors? is it activated by the factory door triggers, or does it have it's own sensors?
If it's run by the factory trigger, it would appear that the problem would be elsewhere as they appear to be working. Re check how the alarm is wired to that door, perhaps something is backwards?

appears as if the wiring of your aftermarket alarm is incorrect. The doors use the same door trigger so there should be no difference on opening or closing the doors.

again the door triggers for each door are hooked to the same factory wire.
One factory wire does all the doors together!
