Airpump wont fit???

Ok so the FC I bought didnt have an airpump but I needed one to pass emissions. I got one off of the for sale section and went to test fit it today but it doesnt seem to fit. I have a BNR turbo with an Apex'i intake, could that be getting in the way?

signature removed as it is in violation of forum rules

Or you might have a signature that is too big (6 lines are the max allowed- yours is over 14) that is getting in the way...

But I would double check that you got a Turbo air pump, not an Non turbo one

lol, you're asking us what is getting in the way? You are the one working on the car. What is the air pump hitting? We can't see it over the internet.

Icemark is more than likely right.

The airpump on my '88 TII was making a bunch of 'pssshh-ing' noises when the car was running, so I went to swap the airpump with the one off of my '87 N/A. Needless to say, the airpump from the turbo has an 'elbow' where the fat vac. line plugs into the back, so that the line points upward. The N/A's airpump has no elbow, so the fat vac. line plugs straight into the back of it (not coming in from the top). When I attempted to plug in the stock TII hose directly into the back of the N/A airpump I installed, the hose was not able to bend correctly and fit into the back... Pretty much, unless there's the elbow on the airpump being attached to a TII, there's not enough room behind it to make it fit... Make sense?

It's probably the same problem reveresed for an N/A...

The question to ask is this: If you have a TII, the big nipple on the backside of the airpump should be shaped like this --> (L)

or if you have an N/A, it should be shaped like this --> (-)

It could possibly be that your "BNR" Turbo has a different compressor housing that is too large. I put "BNR" in quotes because that's totally non-specific it could be any number of the ones that Bryan sells.

For a time I had a T04E housing on a hybrid and it was so large that I had to mill part of the housing to get it to clear the LIM and I had to make a new bracket for the Air Pump so I could swing it far enough out of the way, and even then it was tight fit.

As was previously mentioned, we can't see it through the internet, which part is hitting?
