As far as I can tell, it would be safe to remove the airpump and its piping and silencer without having a block-off plate. Its the ACV I cant touch until i have the plate. Does this sound correct? I took out the silencer a week ago in preparation for a CAI project and the sound is HORRIBLE. I have some free time today and I would like to pull out the airpump as long as my car will run the same. I understand its only purpose is to pump air into the cat (which is gutted anyway) for emissions purposes (its an S4). Can I get a green light?

If you're getting a dual alt pulley get two new alt/wp belts.

 

I just got a FD alt from Silverrotor for like 165 + shipping. He sells it with the dual pulley. Got an additional 20 + amps out of the deal. That is the absolute best way to go. If you do it, get 1" longer belts. Stock is 31.5" so get 32.5" belts. And, if you're going to go through that much trouble to take off all the belts, you might as well put new ones on.

thanks rob, but i really cant spend any extra cash on the electrical system right now. i know it is money well spent, ive looked into the deal, but i have other plans for my minimal resources. a $20 dual alt pulley and some belts should do the trick!
