Car won't start, WTH

This just happened recently. Basically what is happening is the car is cranking but it's not starting up. If I let it sit overnight it will start up the next morning. But if I drive it then turn it off and let it sit for about an hour then it just sits there and cranks and doesn't start up. After I let it sit overnight I get extreme white smoke coming out the back when it finally starts. I talked to a few friends and they said I should check my coolant for oil. I did this and it looked fine after it sat for a day. Also, when I started it up it was 2 quarts low on oil, which a few days before was full. I'm not sure what is going on, any suggestions would be great.

it maybe a minor case of flooding, make sure the car is at full operating temp. before turning it off. if the car still smokes (but starts up) check your oil pump and lines to make sure it is adjusted and functioning properly.

You've blown a coolant seal most likely. Probably an oil ring too. Did it overheat ever?

No, it never overheated. I checked my coolant and it didn't have oil mixed with it. I'm thinking after I shut it down something is draining into the engine causing it to flood, and it takes like 6 hours for that something to drain out of the engine. I believe it to be fuel since when I start it up after those 6 hours I get extremely white smoke.

Hold your hand up to the smoke, does it leave residue, like water maybe?

White smoke is common for starting in mornings due to condensation in the pipes, and the rotary gasses being so hot, it will continue for a minute or two.

I'll give that a try. Right now it's over at my dad's shop. He believes it to be someting wrong with the mass airflow sensor. I'm not exactly sure what he's talking about cuz I haven't had a chance to sit down and talk to him. But I think he's saying its not pulling in any air. But if thats the case why wouldn't it work only for 6 hours after I shut it down. When it is running, it is like a champ. It idles at 1000rpms and sounds real good.
