air tube to cats

Okay, that air tube that runs from the main cat to the check valve on the passenger side of the motor.... when I went to my straight pipe, the guy that did the exhaust welded that tube closed..... is that bad? it is hard to start in the mornings now... have to give her a little gas.... but then again it's 20 deg when i do....

bump....

just need to know if that air tube is part of the sup-zera assist..... cause if so, I might just remove all the emissions and go to an electronic servo set-up for the 5th and 6th's and get rid of all that crap...

It's not. It's the SAP (split air pipe) that feeds air to the cats. If you have no cats you dont have to worry about that pipe. A better way would be to remove the pipe and put a block off plate in it's place. Sub zero assist should be removed from the car anyway. I believe there was a factory service bulletin about that. Do you still have your airpump?

yeah airpump is still there... I've got a 91' S5.... it's odd though.... as soon as I went to a straight pipe, I have to press the gas pedal when I start it in the morning, but when the engine is warm, it starts right up. odd odd odd....
