Air supply valve question??
I have done a search on the asv but I couldnt find anything. I think mine has been tampered with the cap is gone and I talked to the previous owner about it he said he had turned the screw in it. I am trying to figure out what the asv is for, and how does it affect engine performance, how do I adjust it correctly? Any help would be appreciated!

The manual, if I remember right, says to never touch it.Ha! It is there for the power steering. When you turn the steering wheel, its supposed to energize and open up a bit. My turboII has the asv but I have no pwr steering, so its non functional on 87 models. Best of my memory anyway.
Might be fun to idle the car and then jumper the two wires. One to ground and the other to 12v source. Just to see how much it'll bump the idle up.
I just looked at the 89 manual, and that model is a bit different. The signal to the aws valve and the air supply valve are the same, and they both come on at the same time. Mostly for the 3000rpm warmup, from what I could see and tell.
What they call a aws valve on a 89 up car, is it appears, the same thing as the air bypass solenoid on the 86-88 cars. The airbypass solenoid is used in conjunction with the bac to give you that 3000rpm start on a cold engine. If the airbypass solenoid fails, then the rpm will be closer to 2300rpm, give or take.
So a air supply valve is for pwr steering on a 86-88, if you have pwr steering. I'm pretty sure.
