Question exhaust question

I just took off exhaust because it had something rattling in side. When I took off the cats, the first cat was completely empty. The second cat had caught of the first cats guts. Will me not having the 1st pre-cats guts effect me passing smog.

Only with inspection, the first two cats, as I understand it, are only for cold start emissions, it's the main cat that is gets most of your smog.

Some smog guys may not know about the 3 cats and just check your primary..

Yea. First cat is for cold start emmissions which they never check anyway. Toss it and get a downpipe.

yeah, i've gone through a couple of inspections with out my pre-cats and have never had a problem about it. like silkworm was saying, they more than likely don't even know that we are supposed to have 3 cats.
