I see that you are in NC and thus do not have to pass a sniffer test. The short answer is, unless you have an s5 nonturbo you don't need it.

qucik question since were on the subject of air pump. took mine off yesterday when replacing a gasket behind the water pump housing. made things a bit easier. then when it came to puttin it all back together i got a bit lazy and just kept it off. now my question is what to do about the 2 hoses that were connected to it. the one from the air box and the one from the engine
