hey guys, i just wanted to know something, i just realized that i dont't have a pulley for the air pump but the pump is there. now i know thatonce you remove the air pump you need the dual belts cuz of belt slippage, etc., but i've had this car for 3 yrs with this set-up, with one belt (well alt, ps, ac) and there are no signs of slippage, wear, or anything of the symptoms described in the emissions removal. as soon as my camera charges i'll take some pics. is there anything i should worry about?

um, i dont see an airpump... your third picture should have nothing but the pump in it...

 

no theres nothing to really worry about, you dont HAVE to have duel belts most people do it as a redundancy thing....

its probably not the smarted idea to only have 1 belt on the water pump because if that belt flys off and you dont realize it right away, POOF! you over heat and blow yer motor...

granted im running 1 belt on two of my cars..... lol,but id like to get a duel belt pully just to be "safer", but ive been pretty broke....

lol...ok..after further review of the fsm, i don't have an air pump installed and i dont have an air pump at all. shows how much i've been paying attention. but like i said before, i've driven it for 3 yrs like this and nothing major has happened. i do have a dual belt pully but it doesnt fit my alt. in a few months i'll be replacing the alt with a fd one and that has the dual so i guess there's nothing to worry about. thanks guys
